A limited number of travel grants, with a value of up to CAD$500 each, will be available to students travelling from out of province or out of country. These grants will be awarded based upon need and availability. Proof of conference attendance as well as receipts for travel will be necessary to claim them.

To apply for a travel grant, download and complete the application form, and email it to olena@cscbc2009.org with the subject "Travel Grant Application".

The deadline for applications is February 13th 2009. Grants will only be awarded after the conference.

Travel information

For getting around Vancouver, TransLink, the local transit service provider, have an excellent journey planner. For those who like Google Maps, Google have integrated the journey planner into their application for Greater Vancouver. Simply select "By public transit" instead of "By car" or "Walking" when using "Get Directions".

Accommodation information

We regret that we are unable to arrange accomodations or group rates for the conference delegates. Instead, below we point to several on campus locations with reasonably priced rooms.

You may be asked for proof that you are attending the conference. If so just reference Leon French, Logistics Coordinator.

For downtown Vancouver listings, including hostels and budget hotels (which range from $20 to $50 per night) please refer to wikitravel. Note that if you are staying downtown there will be a 45-60 minute commute to UBC, where the conference is being held.
