Submissions

Update: Deadline for submissions extended to January 30th

We invite all graduate and undergraduate students studying biomedical computing or a related field to submit either of the following:

  1. A full paper of 2-4 pages. The best papers will be considered for oral presentation. Papers that are not accepted will automatically be considered for poster presentation.
  2. An abstract for a poster. Accepted submissions will go on display during the relevant poster session.

All submissions will be peer-reviewed by students. Accepted full papers and poster abstracts will appear in the proceedings.

EasyChair

We are using EasyChair to manage the submission and review process. For all submissions please go to the CSCBC 2009 page on EasyChair and click on the "New Submission" link. If you do not have an EasyChair account, you will need to create one for free here.

Submitting a paper

Please format the paper using the BMC Bioinformatics style. The complete BMC Bioinformatics style guide, as well as templates for numerous word processing systems, can be found here. For ease of reference, here are direct links to some popular templates: TeX, Word.

Your submission should be two to four pages in length. Once you are satisfied with your submission, convert it to PDF and submit it. You can submit new versions later if you make changes before the deadline. Please note that you should submit only the final PDF, with all figures and references in camera-ready form.

Submitting a poster

For a poster, you need only submit an abstract of no more than 300 words, formatted however you like. The file you submit must be in PDF format.

If your poster abstract is accepted, you should prepare the final poster to fit within a space 4 feet high by 3 feet wide (121.92cm by 91.44cm). For those used to ISO paper sizes and the metric system, this roughly corresponds to A0.

Dates

Deadline for submissions: January 30th 2009

CSCBC will only accept submissions for which a registered student is the first author. International students are eligible and welcome, but must be able to attend the conference to present their work.

Awards

There will be awards for the best paper presentations and posters in each category.
